Roberto Vega of Laurel passed from this life on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024 at the age of 69.

Roberto was born in Austin, Texas, on June 11, 1954. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the early-1970s. He was employed with Howard Industries and a coil winder for 35 years.

He is survived by his mother Maria Vega of Buda, Texas; sisters Margie Vega of Buda and Elena Rumfield of Austin; brothers Mario Vega of Buda and David Vega of Austin; his loving wife of 47 years Linda Vega of Laurel; daughters Raquel Saenz (Art Saenz) of Round Rock, Texas, and Jaime Vega (Jeremy Mauldin) and Kelly Vega (Dwayne Sistrunk), all of Laurel; grandchildren Alex Whittington and Zach Whittington of Laurel, Kassi Ramirez of Austin and Mykayla Albiter (Rigo) of Round Rock; great-grandchildren Mia Frausto and Xavier Frausto, both of Austin; and nieces, nephews and special family friends.

He was preceded in death by his father David Vega and his sister Patricia Vega.

He will be greatly missed.
