Laurel Golden Tornado senior guard Omar Bayless has been select- ed to the Clarion-Ledger boys’ basketball “Dandy Dozen” team.

“It is the first time in the history of Golden Tornadoes basketball that we have had a player recognized on this team,” said Laurel head coach Marcus Price. “Omar deserves the recognition because he has worked very hard to get where he is.”

The 6-foot, 3-inch Bayless averaged 17.8 points and 11.6 rebounds per game in leading the Golden Tornadoes to the Big House last year.

Currently, he is the leading receiver for the Tornadoes football team, 34 catches for 809 yards and 9 TDs, as they get ready to make a playoff push beginning Friday.
